Okay, big announcement time. We've decided it’s time for us to move on to a place where we can put the girls in a Christian school and give Jack the special attention he needs. This cannot happen in Northern California.
So this weekend, June 13, we are hauling our lives up to Junction City, OR, to prepare for Jason's Asia outreach and to get some counsel and prayer time to figure out our next steps. Thankfully, we won't be going along. Our good buddies George, Karen, and Janae will be transitioning with us. Call it a short, "working sabatical." It's an oxymoron, I know...
We are going to stay in ministry for sure, but our family concerns are taking precedence over everything. There is a good chance we will stay in Oregon (where we can meet our family needs) and work alongside some dear YWAM friends in their church ministry (Many of you know them: Jeff & Jaymie Starr). But we really don't know yet.
Leaving YWAM Mendocino has been a difficult decision for us. It has been a fruitful season, but we were already sensing it was time to go. Our growing urgency for more mobility and flexibility in ministry has been weighing on us. Thankfully, our base directors have been very gracious and supportive in this decision.
So by the time I (Jason) leaves for Asia (July 10), we hope to have our plans firmed up. We will update you as soon as we can.
(NOTE: I can't post anything about this Asia outreach online, but I wrote about it in our family newsletter, to be sent out by snail male tomorrow. If you don't get our newsletter but want to hear more about it, email us and i can send you a pdf and get you on our list.)
