Meen-a-soooo-ta

We arrived in Big Lake, MN on Sunday. Since then, we've visited my dad in the hospital just about every day. 3 weeks ago, he was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed with sever Parkinson's symptoms complicated by pneumonia and a couple other things. He's doing much better. He's talking now, despite the breathing and feeding tubes. The doctors have pushed back his release from the progressive care unit to a rehabilitative program since he still lacks the stamina for required for rehab. Wednesday his speech sounded almost normal and his arms were mobile, but yesterday and other days, I struggled to make out what he was saying and he needed help in repositioning his arms.

That said, my dad continues to minister in prayer and discipleship. He knows every nurse's story, and he counsels anyone who comes into his room. He received a word of wisdom for a patient down the hall, who, after my mom delivered the message, broke down crying and asked for prayer. As my mom was leaving the room, she heard the lady whisper, "Thank you, Father."

Clearly, it is my father's earnest desire to serve the Lord. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement!

What a touching tribute to your father. May God's grace and peace cover you and your family during this time. We think of you often. You are in our prayers.

Jason,
How are you doing? I know how you are feeling. We watched my Mom go through the same kind of thing. Please tell your family we are praying for them. Looks like you have a great family there. Levi, Sara and I all have Blogs if you want to see what were up to. Please tell Chad & Todd I said HI.
